I am a constitutional conservative which means I am a firm believer in the U.S. Constitutions position on extremely Limited Government, Individual Freedom, Responsibility and Self-reliance, Free Markets, and limited to NO taxes. If people agree to pay taxes, taxes should be voluntary and not coercive and subject to penalty or imprisonment.   I believe strongly in the non-aggression principle. I fully support the the right to bear arms and I should not have to pay a government a fee for that right. I respect civility.

As a conservative I uphold that government is supposed to do three things: protect your property rights, provide for your safety and promote policy that supports a vibrant economy. Anything outside of that is not the role of government. Any voluntary tax, would be used by the government for these duties. We have allowed government to intrude into spaces it is not welcome and take too much control of our lives. It has become unbalanced or, one might say, corrupt.

Where there is corruption there is no freedom. One of my favorite lines in the U.S. Declaration of Independence states; 'That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness." For me, this means that representative government must be transparent to the people.

I pledge that as an elected representative of the people of Sarasota County that I will work to: Restore liberty, not restrict it; Shrink government, not expand it; Reduce taxes, not raise them; Limit programs, not create them; Promote the freedom and independence of citizens, not the interference of government in their lives; and Observe the limited, enumerated powers of our Constitution, not ignore them. I will represent all citizens equally and dedicate my time, talent and energy to improving the life we all share in Sarasota County.
